WokeMeter (“WokeMeter,” “we,” “us”) operates this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using the site you agree to it.

What we collect

  • Account. If you create an account, your email address and a username, handled by our authentication provider.
  • Your activity. The votes you cast, reviews and comments you write, and titles you add to your watchlist.
  • Newsletter. Your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
  • Messages. Anything you send through our contact form, including a name and email if you provide them.
  • Technical. Standard server logs and a cookie used to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

To run the service and your account, display your public contributions (votes, reviews, comments) under your username, send the newsletter if you subscribed, respond to your messages, and detect and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We rely on third parties to operate: a hosting provider for the application, a database and authentication provider that stores your account and activity, an email provider for the newsletter, and an AI provider used to score titles (which does not process your personal information). Film and TV data and images are provided by TMDB; this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Cookies

We use an essential cookie to keep you logged in. It is required for accounts to work and is not used for advertising.

Your choices and rights

You can edit or delete your reviews, comments, votes, and watchlist from your account, unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor applicable requests.

Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain it to comply with the law.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the date above when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
